Amazon Spaces

Mobile App

Amazon Spaces was an internal startup to create an innovative way to sublet excess parking in multi-unit apartment complexes.
I designed a mobile app customers could use to find and pay for parking, and also to use for entry into the garage through communication with a security device invented by my team.

Building Access

After encountering some zoning issues with the parking sublet business model, the Spaces team pivoted towards last mile delivery access control.

Amazon Spaces securely and automatically grants access to e-commerce delivery associates using time-bound multi-factor authentication technology.

Ultimately, this was the capability that added value to Amazon’s last mile delivery business. By eliminating access control issues for multi-unit housing, our innovative access control technology eliminated the single largest cause of undeliverable packages that the last mile delivery team was dealing with.

Cisco's hardware licensing operation had become a patchwork of incompatible systems. I built a team and a set of processes to consolidate these systems and remove a major source of negative feedback for Cisco's products.

Introducing Yahoo users to new products and features was a perennial challenge that often involved a tension between allowing the user to continue with their original task, and introducing them to something new. Our experiments with new user onboarding and feature marketing established patterns still followed today throughout the web industry.
